Locality Diabetes Forums

These are quarterly forums held in each of the localities across Tayside. They are open to all staff who are involved in the care of people with diabetes from specialist staff to care homes. They are held in the evening and are free of charge.  Where highlighted click on the event to obtain further information on the programme and registration details.  For General Practices participating in the Diabetes Local Enhanced Service, these forums provide 2 hours of diabetes education.

Online Diabetes Education Tool

This web based interactive tool uses animation, subtitles and voice over to explain anatomy, symptoms, diagnosis and treatment of diabetes. As well as an educational resource for non-specialist health care professionals it can also be used by health care professional to explain diabetes to patients. The tool is in a modular format so you can access the part which is of most interest to you at a time that is convenient to you.

How to carry out a diabetic foot screening

This short video produced by the Scottish diabetes Foot Action Group explains the purpose of foot screeening, demonstrates how to carry out a foot assessment and how to use the online SCI-DC foot risk tool to calculate and record foot risk score. The video lasts approximately 12 minutes.
